temperature gauge light flashing on t25 water cooled

GENUINE PROBLEM...............................................

Whilst drivin our t25 1.9 water-cooled van at a constant speed of around 60mph to bug jam, it ran quite warm and the temerature gauge light was flashing. I have checked that it has water in it and it has so im a bit stumped, any help will be great cheers. :D

Try checking the temp sender
If at first you dont succed, skydiving isnt for, you
