At last I hear you say………………………Vanfest booking is underway and yes we are guaranteed a club plot!!!!!!!

However I think you all need to be aware of some changes to this years event.

Yes the whole event is still advanced booking only and club camping in general has been reduced in size. Club camping is now by invitation only. Clubs have been assessed over the years and only those with a good behavioural record have been invited (I think you will be surprised at some of the clubs omitted). Once again, we as a club have to provide public liability insurance which we get through the ABVWC, I as usual have to do a risk assessment on site, there will be a traffic management team to help with club camping enforcement this year and we must abide by the rules (see attachments). I don’t want to go on about any of them but can we all please abide by them (like we all have in the past), I’m proud to have the club in a position where we get invited to one of the top events in the VW calendar and I don’t want us to loose our slot in the future…………………rant over!!!!!!!!

Also this year you will only be able to get into the club camping area if you have an official club camping sticker which will be provided by me. With the professional traffic management company now working on site we will not be able to blag friends onto our plot as vehicles are to be constantly checked over the weekend to make sure they all display a sticker. If you have friends that want to be on our plot get them to pay their membership to our club and book through me, that way we will all be happy!!!!!!

Prices, simple really £35 per adult (Kids 16 and under are free)

For this event I could really do with your money by the end of May, I realise this is quite early but I can’t book the final club plot size until I have all the booking numbers and money and at the same time I don’t want Vanfest to think that we won’t be going and then end up releasing all or part of our plot to another club. Bear in mind Vanfest was fully sold out by the middle of July last year.

What? No fancy dress theme? ARGH! Gonna have to find something simple...I think the "official" theme is Disco which should be fairly easy...anyone up for it? Or will it be me on me Jack Jones again....

disco sounds cool to me - but with 2 days before lift off erm I think I am gibbin on the fancy dress this year sorry of cow of much noseyness - I am though looking forward to a fantastic wknd with your good selves and a few others that we ain't seen in a while - donot chatise me too much for the lack of fancy dress - I will be right there with you next year - infact we'll have a whole 12 months to come up with a fantastic theme for everyone to participate in love ya muchly - are there cruises organised??

Anybody got any cruising times and starting locations to share with anybody?

Would love to join you, but I'm having to go down the night before, but if you get in touch with me about cruising I will try and pair people up via text/phone/forum etc
