HELP!!!

Postby crewescontrol on Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:43 am

Hi need a bit of advice.
Went to go out in my van yesterday and it wouldnt budge, seems the handbrake is still on when in first or reverse, I just came back from 260 mile round trip last weekend and was fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

we had a similar problem on our bay ,

with it standing for a week and with all this rain we've had,
the rear hubs can soon rust to the brake shoes,

jack the van up ,
chock the front wheels and lower van onto axle stands,
take the wheel off,
make sure the van is secure and take the hand brake off,
smack the hub with a big hammer (very hard) all around the edge of the hub and for good measure give the big hub nut a smack also,
this should free the brake off,

if you put the van in reverse you should be able to feel
the van trying to lift up on one side or the other ,
which ever side lifts up is normally the wheel which is stuck on,

hope this helps...
this town ,is coming like a ghost town !!!!!! ........
