welding burns!!!! wait till your underneath and there falling on you. i had a big blob of weld (and i mean big) burn through my overalls, jumper and t shirt and imbed itself into my shoulder.
i shot from under the van (and it was'nt mine, clares van) and the weld then ran down my chest, burning on its way. all you could smell was burning flesh and hair for 15 mins.

i love vans

Tell me about it. I was doing some welding on the floor of one of our old cars and had a blob of weld go down my ear. Now that was painfull it really hurt and made me feel sick for a day or two after and was dizzy for a bit. I could hear it sizzling in my ear but couldnt get it out. Learnt my lesson. When working underneath wear ear plugs.

Inner arch is now welded to outer arch just got a small bit of inner arch to replace that i had to cut out that was rotten but waited till new one was on so i got the shape. Took the rear wheel off and have found out that the plate the spring sits on has rotted away so i have either got to replace the radius arms or see if there is any way of repairing them. :x . Started to cut the rusty corner panel out and o/s rear wheel arch, but need to do that to get to the panel underneath next to the battery tray. I will post more pics late.

Whats next??? :?
Where do i start.
I have got to move house soon so the van has got to be moted in the next couple of months, in that time i have got to get the other new arm put on, brake lines replaced, then replace rear corner, rear arch, sill, front arch and step all on drivers side. :( Lots of work so i am guessing plenty more welding burns and scrapped knuckles.
Me and the little lad are going on a road trip tomorrow to pick up a sliding door with a window from herefordshire, and fingers crossed a pop top soon (i hope).
Oh and i have got to get the diesel injector pump set up so i dont dissapear in a cloud of black smoke when i start it up.
More pics will come along soon.
