BUS TYPES 2009

Postby surfade on Tue Jan 27, 2009 2:41 pm

Hi All

Mr postman kindly came to our door this morning and left us the advance booking form for BUS TYPES this year – as you may or may not be aware BUSTYPES is returning to it’s original venue of OSWESTRY SHOWGROUND (a much preferred venue to last years) and we’re sure it will be a much better show and turn out than last year’s extremely cold BUS TYPES.

CAMPING IS FREE and entry tickets for the weekend cost £15 (if booked in advance) and £20 on the gate – Children under 11 are free with children over 11 costing £4 for the weekend.

The show ground opens from 2pm on the FRIDAY with live entertainment on the Friday evening.
SATURDAY sees trader and autojumble stalls opening, a veedub for sale area, daily driver display, special bus display, club display, Early evening Cruise, family disco, tracksuit party (for all those people who remember the fashion statement that was the track and shell suit era!!!) and once again Live entertainment!!!! SUNDAY sees SHOW & SHINE with a trophy presentation and much the same as SATURDAY’s line up with regards to other things going on!!!!

ALL WEEKEND there will be children’s competitions and activities (for those that need it), inflatable fun rides, toilet, SHOWER & water facilities, food & drink stalls, licensed bar, professional security, medical team and toilet cleaners (its on the leaflet!!!!)

NOW, FROM SPEAKING TO THE ORGANISER’S BUS TYPES DO NOT DO A CLUB CAMPING AREA – there are club displays on the Saturday and Sunday but NO CLUB CAMPING AREA – therefore if we want to camp together as a club we feel it better to organise advanced tickets for those that want them and then organise groups of people that can travel together to the SHOWGROUND and find us a pitch where we can set up as CNBBC – alternatively we can just organise advanced tickets for everyone and we can camp as and when we arrive bumping into each other as we wander round during the weekend – (I will be discussing these options at the club meet but if you could all give me some feed back with regards to what you would like to do and if you would like a ticket organising then that would help me out greatly!!!) Obviously Angie and myself might not make camping at this year’s show (it all depends on whether a little one arrives on time or not ) but we will be putting in an appearance on either the Saturday or the Sunday all being well!!!)

Only thing left to remind people is that if you book your van into SHOW and SHINE or one of the SPECIAL BUS DISPLAYS (these include Commercial van display, rat look display and Slammed bus display) you will receive FREE admission for the weekend!!!!

Hopefully last year’s bus types will not have put you off and we’ll get a good response for this year’s event – looking forward to hearing from you all soon!!!!!

We went to bustypes last year and thought it was pants. But our tent did blow over and knacker up the poles(it was a brand new tent.) So we left then went back on the saturday. Weather was rubbish and cold. I think it was more just the weather but hey ho. I like the showground at oswestry been there a few times for deva dubs and mach. I think we will be going but not 100% yet and we have always gone on our own so it would be nice to go in a group. :D

Hi Jim

We have posted out about BIG BANG yet - when we do we'll let you know who is and who isnt interested :P :P :P :P thought we'd get cholmondley and bustypoes organised first and then move on to the next ;o)

Understand what you are saying about BUSTYPES we all agreed the weather last year and the venue was rubbish - BUT we had done the previous 3 years at OSWESTRY and the weather was fab and the show was excellent - so I am sure last year's disaster was a combination of bad weather and bad venue.

Hopefully this year the weather will be kinder and the organiser's will have listened to some of the comments from last year's show and will have gone back to their original format :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

     Will let you kow of any other day trippers (ade and myself included) as we could probably organise a cruise for that too

Thanks for your input

It's that time again for a possible cruise to an event together, although I have a feeling most people are leaving at different times.
However if you would like to join a cruise to the show e-mail me back with a departure time from The White Lion that you would be happy with and if I can match you up with anybody else intending to leave 15mins either side of you I'll match you up and put you in touch with each other.
I probably will not be going, but I will post this e-mail on the forum too (and update it with any mails I receive) and that way if you logon to that you could all keep a track of each others thoughts and movements without having to go through me. Please bear in mind I won't be there to sort out any timing issues or number involved.
I will update with a final e-mail on Friday 20th with all the information I have at hand.
So get in touch and let us know your plans

Ladies and Gentlemen

Sadly we are getting close to some advanced show booking dead lines.

Could I please have all monies for BusTypes by 16th March and CamperJam by 23rd March please.

In honesty I have had little interest in these shows, but remember they all cost more on the door, so if you are intending on going to either please get in touch so we can try and save you a bit of money. Just think the saving will help towards your beer money ;-)

To those of you who have paid, a big thank you and rest assured your tickets will be booked. I will look at distribution as and when they arrive.

I also need membership monies, again to those of you who have paid a big thank you to those that haven’t please remember I cannot do any advanced club bookings for any event unless you are a paid up member. Ideally membership money is required for current members by March 31st as this is when I am required to pay the ABVWC.

Many thanks in advance and we look forward to hearing from you………………………………..
