Bungalow with Attitude

Postby NoseyCow on Sun Nov 30, 2008 8:46 pm

Well this year's torrential downpours while trying to put up a tent at EVERY SINGLE SHOW have finally convinced us that the boys and us have outgrown ole Jezza.

So we will be living on beans on toast for a few months, or until Jezza's sold - whichever comes first because we've just bought our new house bus...Meet Dunpitchin

As she looked when we picked her up:

When Marv started work on her in the (very) cold:

Ok, a few changes for you, sorry for the delay (and quality of he pics!) I *ahem* misplaced the lead from the camera to the laptop (also I misplaced the bit of information about the card reader upstairs!!)

Ok, so our front seats were a little worn and Marv found these and thought they'd be a it's-so-tacky-it's-cool addition and tbh they're quite warm to sit in :D

Image

Ok, then we (Marv again) did this:

Image

So far so good. Then I investigated my thermal blinds - check these out

RUGS!! Oh the warmth underneath my feet *sigh*:

Bathroom was a bit erm...peely is probably the best word so I took all the wallpaper off (I had one of those...I wonder what would happen if I pulled this moments  never a good idea)

Hmmm..can't really see this very well, David Bailey I am not:
Image

The wood underneath was fine, apparently recently been replaced by previous owner, however I was worried about the peel and therefore damp getting into the wood from the copious amounts of steam which we will have in that room (*insert your own joke here) so I have painted it in sealer/damp proofing paint by Thomson (?) which was like painting the walls with golden syrup. If it had been in the fridge overnight. I got as much of it over me as on the walls, still, it was a talking point in work the following day!

In sealer:
Image

I have papered the bathroom again (no pic yet - half a job, I know!)

When we picked her up there was a slight noise (a squeaky-grindy noise - sorry, best description I could come up with, it depended where you were sat as to how it sounded!!), Marv checked the brakes weren't rubbing, all ok. Quick conflab on the VW-bat-phone (Marv and Nick) and wheel bearing was diagnosed as being at fault.

New wheel bearing obtained. Marv and Nick spent half a day the other Sunday doing stuff (happily I was relegated to brew duty which I delegated to the children  ) - alas no pics, I'm afraid - and it was also decided we needed to replace the castle nut as this looked "dodgy" so quick search on internet, new one bought, (along with big torque wrench).

That's about us up to date. The only other changes relate to the fecking crap I've bought to fill her up with!

I WANNA GO CAMPING NOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!
